Dilraba Dilmurat has recently dismissed several rumours about her preparation for her new movie, the Stephen Chow-helmed, “Kung Fu Soccer” (previously “Shaolin Women’s Soccer”).

The actress, who appeared alongside the cast of the movie at an event in Tianjin, clarified a previous report that she gained weight to film the movie.

“I recently saw an interview saying I gained 16 pounds and I was afraid that I’d end up with 32 pounds in a couple of days. I didn’t gain any weight. I just did some muscle-building training to improve my coordination,” she explained.

Dilraba also dismissed rumours that she sustained a swollen ankle during filming, adding that swelling would have made filming difficult.

The actress stressed that the crew was very professional, and the director’s protection of the actors was also very professional and thorough.

Dilraba is one of the lead stars of the new movie, which marks Stephen’s return to directing seven years after “The New King of Comedy”.
