Reen Yu is elated to finally return to showbiz, after a long hiatus following her marriage to Vic Chou.
The 38-year-old actress, who spoke to the media after a long absence, said that her return to showbiz is like a woman re-entering the workforce, and that in addition to being a mother, she wants to have her own career as well. The actress has made the decision due to the fact that her 9-year-old daughter is now older.
“I envy working women because they have time to change their mood and have a wider social circle. Taking care of a child for a long time can be tiring too,” she said, adding that she rarely had any time to be alone since becoming a mother.
When asked about her husband Vic Chou’s opinion, Reen laughed and said, “I told him, and he has to accept it. He asked me what I want to do, but I’m still thinking about it.”
The actress also stated that Vic asked what she really wanted to do, and that she told him she doesn’t set any limits. However, she hopes the roles won’t be too young or too innocent. She also has no issue doing intimate scenes if the plot requires it.
Asked if she would be okay working with her husband, Reen laughed and said she had thought about it.
“Personally, I hope not. I’d prefer to have different male leads! But it would be nice to work with him if there is a chance. It would be my honour,” she added.
