Nam Bo-ra recently announced that she has given birth to her first child.
Sharing the news on social media with photos and videos from the delivery room, she wrote, “Kong-al came into the world on June 15. Kong-al is adapting calmly, as if he is on his second life.”
The accompanying photos and videos captured Nam Bo-ra holding her baby in her arms immediately after giving birth, as well as images of her newborn son.
Regarding the childbirth process, the actress said, “I had been preparing for a natural childbirth all along. I exercised hard and followed a strict diet so that I really wanted to succeed in a natural childbirth.”
However, during her last check-up before giving birth, Nam Bo-ra was told by the doctor that there was almost no amniotic fluid left and that neither natural delivery nor induced labour was possible.
“It happened so suddenly that I burst into tears out of fear, but I pulled myself together thinking of Kong-al and went into the operating room, and at 8.24 PM on the 15th, I was able to meet Kong-al,” she said.
“Although it is regrettable that I could not have a natural birth, it was a time when I could feel thankful to the doctors and nurses at the hospital who helped ensure my baby was born healthy, as well as to my husband, family, and acquaintances around me.”
The 36-year-old actress also showed her love for her newborn son, saying, “Kong-al, welcome to the world.”
Nam Bo-ra married a businessman the same age as her in May last year. In December of the same year, she announced her pregnancy.
