May Sun recently announced that she has finally graduated from her part-time Master’s degree programme at Shih Hsin University in Shanghai.
Sharing the good news on social media, the singer posted several photos from her graduation ceremony and posted, “Graduation is here! Writing the thesis was tough, but I’m so happy I finished the oral exam (though there’s still a lot to revise).”
“I remember my teacher once said, ‘It doesn’t matter if your thesis is bad, the important thing is that you wrote it yourself.’ I’m pretty sure I met both of those standards. Teachers and classmates, thank you for your care,” she added.
In a statement to the media, May stated that she initially enrolled because a friend wanted to study there, and she herself was interested. However, after actually immersing herself in graduate school, she jokingly said that she only then discovered that the courses were “highly difficult.”
When asked about her most memorable takeaway, the singer stated that the biggest gain wasn’t just textbook knowledge, but rather socialisation. She said she never imagined she would be appointed as the student council president, but after taking on this role, she began to learn how to communicate and coordinate with everyone.
