Jun Fu’s wife has recently confirmed speculations that the Taiwanese actor didn’t know about his diagnosis prior to his passing.
Speaking to the media at the funeral hall on 10 June where she bids farewell to her husband, Mrs. Fu explained about her husband’s illness, medical treatment, and the true cause of death. She shared that the actor was feeling unwell and had some shortness of breath on the day of his passing, though he remained conscious.
She said that he not only drove to the hospital, but the couple also went into the emergency room together. At that time, an X-ray was taken and it was found that there was a suspected abnormality in his lungs.
“He agreed to the intubation himself. At first, he thought it was just a normal sickness,” she said.
Regarding the cause of death, she revealed that it was “severe increase in white blood cells complicated by pneumonia,” while the final death certificate stated “pneumonia complicated by sepsis, suspected acute leukaemia.”
However, Jun Fu was unaware of his illness beforehand.
As to whether Jun Fu had given any last words, Mrs. Fu shook her head and choked up, saying, “No, I never thought such a day would come.”
Jun Fu passed away on 7 June following his return from a vacation in Bali, Indonesia. He was 46.
