Chen Tianxiang has dismissed reports stating that the reason for him delaying his graduation for two years was due to him failing his studies.

His agency recently released a statement clarifying the rumours, saying that Chen was previously unable to complete his coursework as required by the school due to his long-term filming commitments during his sophomore years. To avoid impacting his studies, the actor applied for and was granted a leave of absence.

The agency explained that after the leave of absence expired, Chen returned to school on time to resume his studies.

“During his time back at school, Tianxiang completed his coursework normally and achieved good grades. Due to a conflict between filming commitments and exam schedules, Tianxiang applied for a deferred exam according to school regulations. Because of the course’s scheduling, the school did not organise a unified deferred exam for this course in the following academic year; therefore, Tianxiang had to postpone the exam to the next academic year,” they added.

The company also stated that the actor took his exams in late May and has now completed all required credits.

“The above process was conducted within the framework of school regulations, and relevant faculty members were fully aware of the process. The claim that “failing multiple courses and delaying graduation by two years” is untrue. Please do not believe or spread rumours,” they concluded.
