Cecilia Cheung’s former manager Samuel Yu Yuk Hing has recently broken his silence after losing his breach of contract case against the actress.
In a video statement released recently, Samuel stated that he was shocked and unwilling to accept the verdict of the case, and has now entrusted his legal team to continue to pursue the matter.
“I am equally shocked and incredulous about some of the testimonies given by Ms. Cecilia Cheung and Ms. Chow Ching-yee in court during the hearing! Therefore, I will classify and organise the testimonies given by them during the hearing, as well as the relevant documents disclosed in the case, and then, within a week, report and file complaints with different law enforcement agencies regarding the different types of information,” he said.
He mentioned at the end of his statement that he had run into Cecilia Cheung during the adjournment of the hearing.
“She instantly cried and asked me: ‘Samuel, how are you? Are you okay?’ I patted her and comforted her. ‘Okay, I hope we will all be fine!’.”
He continued, “Even at this moment, I would still rather believe that the tears Miss Cheung shed in an instant that day, in full view of the lawyers, were at least somewhat sincere. So up to this point, what I still want to say to Miss Cheung is the same thing I told her that day, that I sincerely hope that ‘all of us will be fine.’”
It is noted that Cecilia Cheung was sued for breach of contract in 2020, with a claim for over HKD 12.76 million. The actress recently won the case, and Yu was ordered to pay legal costs.
