They may be one of the most beloved celebrity couples in Greater China, but according to Shu Qi, husband Stephen Fung only ranks fourth in her heart.
The actress-director shared as much recently in a recent forum, where she sat down with Kevin Tsai to talk about “Time and Women’s Growth”.
When discussing their views on love, Shu Qi stated, “I don’t put relationships in the top two. My career comes first, then myself, then friends, and then relationships.”
When asked if that would make Stephen rank fourth overall, she responded, “He’s the one who makes me feel the most secure!”
“I think the person who will truly stay by your side is someone who will support you. If I have to give up something for him, then he’s not the right person,” Shu Qi said. “People can fall in love, but they shouldn’t become addicted. It’s important to maintain your individuality.”
Shu Qi frankly admitted that in her mind, this order hasn’t changed with different stages of life; love has always been fourth or fifth, never in the top three.
“This is a key point: even if you’re married, you don’t need to depend on someone, otherwise life would be very boring,” she added.
