Louis Koo’s camp has recently warned fans not to be deceived by fake accounts claiming to be from his team, following a recent Beyblade scam.
Recently, a netizen on the Threads platform claimed to be Louis Koo’s assistant “Siu Chan”, said that Louis had specially purchased 888 Beyblades from Taiwan for fans. The post claimed that anyone who leaves a blessing message could receive one for free.
The Thread user stated, “Hello everyone, I’m Louis Koo’s assistant, Siu Chan. Louis Koo said celebrities should stay close to the people. He knows everyone has recently been enjoying Beyblades, and also knows they’re not easy to buy now, so he asked me to purchase 888 of them from a friend’s shop in Taiwan. 126 have already been claimed, leaving 762. We hope everyone can leave a blessing message for Louis Koo, and you can freely claim a Beyblade.”
The related post has since been deleted.
On 11 May, Louis reposted an official statement on his personal social media account to firmly clarify that neither he nor his company has hired anybody by that name, and that they had never organised any “free Beyblade giveaway” event.
“Our company is the sole legally authorised management company for renowned actor Louis Koo, responsible for managing his portrait rights, endorsement work, and copyrighted productions… This individual’s statements, actions, and published information have no relation whatsoever to our company or the artiste,” they added.
