37-year-old Jing Tian has recently been embroiled in a surrogacy scandal.

On 22 May, a document suspected to be an agreement from an overseas surrogacy agency was leaked on Weibo. The document contained the words “Tian Jing” and what appeared to be a signature, sparking heated discussions.

An entertainment blogger claimed that an actress with the surname J demanded a huge sum of money from her boyfriend under the guise of surrogacy. The agreement stated that the first payment was USD 100,000 – which the man had already paid. He then allegedly gave the woman an additional RMB 30 million. However, the woman breached the contract midway through the process, refusing to have the child and blocking him to avoid returning the money.
