Dua Lipa has filed a lawsuit against the South Korean giant, Samsung, over the illegal use of her image on the packaging for its televisions.
In the lawsuit, filed on 8 May in the Central District of California, the singer’s legal team alleged that Samsung prominently used a photo of her face without consent on various TV models sold across the US and that it was “designed to improperly capitalise on Ms. Lipa’s hard-earned success to promote and sell Samsung’s products.”
Dua Lipa alleged that the company used a photo, which she owns the copyright to, that was taken backstage at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2024 and displayed it on the packaging for various Samsung TVs since June 2025.

“Recognising Ms. Lipa’s notoriety and goodwill, Samsung used a copyrighted image of Ms. Lipa without authority or license and prominently featured it on the front of cardboard boxes containing Samsung manufactured televisions for retail sale,” it added.
The singer claimed that Samsung continued to profit from her image and refused to comply with her demands of doing otherwise.
