Fans of Meng Ziyi have now expressed concern over the actress’ health, after it was revealed that she was rushed to the hospital after feeling unwell at work.
On 12 April, her studio issued a statement, stating that Meng suddenly was feeling poorly after the crew finished work on the 11th, and that they have cancelled her filming schedule.
The team emphasised that after being treated by doctors, Meng’s health is fine and she is currently resting and recuperating. They also thanked everyone for their concern.
Despite the team trying to assure that it was not as serious as it sounds, fans couldn’t help but express concern, especially since the actress once mentioned that the longest consecutive break she had taken in the past two years was only two days for the Lunar New Year.
She is also known to have gone back to work a day after receiving medication for food poisoning and peritonsillar abscess instead of opting for surgery.
Prior to filming her new drama, “Jiangmen Du Hou” with Dylan Wang, Meng actually just completed filming “Princess Shang” in February. She also has several other projects awaiting release as well as multiple product endorsements that require her to attend events and shoot commercials.
Fans are now expressing concern over her workaholic nature, with many demanding her studio to review her work schedule and to give her more time to rest.
