Britney Spears has checked in into rehab more than a month after she was arrested for driving under influence.

The news was confirmed by a rep of the former pop princess, who stated that Britney voluntarily checked in into a treatment facility on 12 April.

“Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time,” the rep said.

They added, “Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”

It was back on 4 March that the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department revealed that Britney was arrested for DUI, and was released from jail a day later.

Her rep admitted that it was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable.
