Filming is now on for the new Disney+ series, “The Koreans,” starring Lee Byung-hun and Han Ji-min.
The drama, which is a reimagining of the hit American TV series, “The Americans,” is set against the backdrop of South Korea in the early 1990s, and tells the story of a middle-class family hiding a treasonous secret.
Lee and Han play two North Korean operatives working to destabilise the South from within by pretending to be an ordinary South Korean couple.

The original spy drama, created by Joe Weisberg, stars Kerri Russell and Matthew Rhys in the leads as two Soviet KGB intelligence officers posing as an American married couple living in Washington DC. It ran for six seasons from 2013 to 2018.
Directed by Ahn Gil-ho of “The Glory” fame, the screenplay for “The Koreans” is adapted by Park Eunkyo, known for “Made in Korea” and “Mother”.
