Elena Kong recently dismissed the notion of a third party in her marriage with Ng Kwan Cheung in an interview on Stephen Chan’s online show.
The actress, who tied the knot with Ng, who is the brother of actress Sandra Ng, back in 2016, said that the only reason that they called it quits two years later was because of incompatibility.
“After spending time together, we felt that it’s better to be friends than husband and wife,” she said.
Elena admitted that their courtship was a short one, and that they tied the knot only after knowing each other for three months.
She also admitted that she and her ex-husband remain good friends, but considering that he now has a new partner, she will not contact him frequently to avoid disturbing him, and will only contact him when there is a real need.
As for her own views on love and family, Elena said that she used to long to be a mother, but that her partner at the time didn’t share her desire. Now, she has given up on the idea of having children, believing that she may no longer have the patience and ability to care for a new life.
