The management of PLANCK STARS has recently apologised to the public for the recent controversy surrounding the group, especially one of the members, Anaru Rairai.
In a statement released recently, a representative of the company stated that Anaru’s decision to strip down into a swimsuit at the Sapporo Snow Festival was done without informing the management.
The rep expressed, “We would like to offer our sincere apologies for causing concern and discomfort to many people due to the costume and the content of the performance.”
They continued, “In this case, the actions of the member in question were based on her own strong desire and personal decision, and there was no coercion, instruction or direction from our company’s management. Our company regularly provides guidance on safety, social considerations and compliance when appearing at public events, and has thoroughly warned members to be careful so as to avoid causing any inconvenience or damage to the event or related parties.”
The management then stated, “We take very seriously our responsibility as organisers for the fact that this incident has resulted in misunderstandings and criticism, and for failing to prevent behaviour that could be perceived as inappropriate during an event of a public nature. As a measure to prevent recurrence, we are currently strengthening the obligation to report in advance when appearing at events, and are strongly instructing people to wear warm clothing when in cold places.”
It was back on 8 February that Anaru made headlines for her performance with her group. During their performance of the song “Ufoufo” on stage while the snow was coming down, the members, who were wearing winter coats on stage, removed their coats to reveal summer outfits underneath.
However, Anaru chose a swimsuit instead, causing both criticism from the public who found it inappropriate, and concern among fans, who said that they should not be performing in cold weather in unsuitable outfits.
