ILLIT has once again been chosen to sing the theme song for a Japanese TV animation.

According to the group’s label Belift Lab on 3 February, the group will be singing the opening theme song “Bubee” for the Japanese TV animation “Magical Sisters Lulutto Lilly,” scheduled to air in April.

“Bubee” is a dance-pop track that blends J-pop with Shibuya-kei subculture influences.

In a statement, the members said, “While recording the song ‘Bubee’, it felt like we were being pulled into the world of anime. Please listen to the cute lyrics and bouncy melody.”

“Magical Sisters Lulutto Lilly” tells the story of two sisters who gain magical powers and transform into the adults they admire. As the latest work from Studio Pierrot, which has produced the “Magical Girl” series since 1983, the series is highly anticipated.

ILLIT is no stranger to recording anime themes. The group has already sung the theme song “Sunday Morning” as the opening theme for the second season of “’Tis Time for ‘Torture,’ Princess” (2024) and “Secret Quest” as the ending theme for “Pokémon: Mega Voltage” (2025).
