It’s been two years since Crystal Liu’s last drama and netizens are starting to notice that she has yet to announce a new project.
It was reported that China’s film and television industry is currently experiencing a downturn, with fewer and fewer productions finding funding to start filming, leading to a sharp decline in acting opportunities for actors.
Recently, a ranking of actors who haven’t filmed for more than two years has been circulating on Weibo. Besides Angelababy, who was once subjected to a soft ban, Crystal was revealed to be one of the top stars who has no new project.
Although the actress received lots of love and support since playing Huang Yimei in “The Tale of Rose,” Crystal has not joined any new project or even collaborate in new endorsements since the drama.
However, it is noted that Crystal once revealed in an interview that she wants to do more projects that she likes in the future instead of taking any and every project given to her.
Crystal stated that to maintain quality, she would wait for a good script and only join a production when there’s a script or a role that she feels compelled to do.
