Carlos Chan is elated to find that he has been nominated in the Best Actor category for the first time at this year’s Hong Kong Film Awards.
The actor, who was asked about his nomination for the movie, “Someone Like Me,” said that he was very grateful to be recognised among the great actors in the same category.
“I thank the director, Fish [Liew], and other actors and crew members for their joint efforts in making this film a success. This film has also given me an important experience in acting. I thank the Hong Kong Film Awards voters for this encouragement and am grateful to the company for its continued support,” he said.
Prior to the announcement, Michelle Wai, who was announcing the nominees, couldn’t help but choke up after finding out that Carlos is also nominated. The two are known to be best friends.
Carlos will be facing tough competition from the likes of Louis Cheung, Tony Leung Kar Fai and Louis Koo – the latter who is nominated for two movies.
