Girls’ Generation member Seohyun is set to make her debut as a violinist.
It was revealed that the singer-actress will appear as a special guest soloist at the 8th Regular Concert of the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra, to be held on 13 March at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul. She will play “Csárdás”, the famous piece by Vittorio Monti.
Although Seohyun began the violin as a hobby five months ago, the singer has been working diligently for this performance, rehearsing closely with the orchestra.
“I hope that through this challenge, many people will feel closer to classical music and discover new kind of joy. I want to show that classical music, like pop music, is something everyone can enjoy easily and happily,” she said.
An official from the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra said, “With Seohyun’s participation, we expect the barrier to classical performances to be lowered even further. It will be a very special stage filled with a pure love for music.”
