Jay Chou has a news to share with his fans, but is it about his new album? No.
On 12 January, the singer-songwriter shared a series of posts on Instagram Story saying, “I’m about to announce something exciting and nerve-wracking. I’m going to participate in the Australian Open as a player. If I win a million dollars, I’ll donate it all.”
Jay also said that since the game has a one-point elimination format, the game could end in less than a minute, and so there’s no need for fans to fly all the way.
“However, the locals are also very welcome to come and cheer!” he added.
His participation is also announced by the Australian Open on its social media platform, writing, “From being the King of Mandarin Pop filling stadiums with his music to being “Kato” from The Green Hornet and now shifting focus to being a dedicated tennis player – welcome @jaychou to the 1 Point Slam and [Australian Open].”
