Fans have expressed support for Jolin Tsai, after it was revealed that the team of the Taiwanese pop star’s world tour decides to take legal action against netizens for spreading false information and making personal attacks against her.
As reported on SETN, on 7 January, her “Pleasure” tour team released a formal statement pointing out that some internet users have made malicious speculations, taken things out of context, and made false interpretations about the content of Jolin’s concert.
It added that these netizens have spread a large amount of false, misleading information and insulting remarks on social media platforms. These actions, it stated, have seriously damaged Jolin’s personal reputation and legitimate rights and interests.
The team emphasised that they have always adopted a “zero-tolerance” attitude towards any infringement. The relevant evidence has been preserved, and the platform has been notified to immediately delete the false content involving infringement. The team will pursue relevant responsibilities in accordance with the law and will not tolerate any infringement.
This legal action is seen as rare by Jolin’s fans, who said that the singer has always chosen to keep mum on any criticism and slander.
One fan wrote, “This is the first time in 26 years of her career that she’s suing anti-fans!”
Another posted, “Finally, the official team has taken action!”
