Bosco Wong is finally a TV King, after winning Best Actor at the TVB Anniversary Awards for the first time.
The actor, who bested contenders like Moses Chan and Him Law for his performance in “The Queen of News 2,” couldn’t help but teared up upon going on the stage to accept the accolade.
Admitting that he didn’t expect to win the coveted title after winning Most Beloved TVB Male Lead in the Greater Bay Area alongside Charmaine Sheh, he expressed, “I was very lucky to have met many great seniors and executives. Even though I’m so mischievous, they still love me so much. Thank you for scolding me, but every word you said was for my own good.”
It is noted that Bosco had been nominated five times for the Best Actor award throughout his career, with the first in 2012 for “Witness Insecurity”. However, it was only after the fifth time that he finally won.
“The Queen of News 2” also emerged the big winner, bagging nine accolades including Best Drama Series, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Greater Bay Area’s Favourite TVB Actress, Greater Bay Area’s Favourite TVB Actor, and Greater Bay Area’s Favourite TVB Drama.
