Despite having enjoyed motherhood for the past four years, Zhu Zhu recently said that she doesn’t want to be bound by the identity of a “mother”.
The singer-actress, who is mum to four-year-old daughter Pearl, shared in an interview that her lifestyle actually hasn’t changed much after having a daughter, though there are some differences from her past life.
“Before, I might have a drink with friends after dinner, or even go singing and dancing. Now that I have [my daughter], I can’t do those things as often. But during the day, I try my best to integrate her into my life,” she said.
Zhu Zhu said that though she brought her child to places the child likes, including parks and zoos, she would also bring the child to her own events, such as meeting with friends or attending exhibitions.
“I don’t have to completely sacrifice my own life so that my every day revolves around her. I hope to achieve a balance. Since she chose me to be her mother, she needs to adapt to my life,” she added.
Zhu Zhu tied the knot with lecturer husband Wang Yunjia (aka Kieran Wang) in March 2021, and welcomed their daughter in September the same year.
