Dee Hsu’s talk show, “Dee Girls Talk” recently took to social media to warn fans not to fall victim to a scam using the show’s name.
On 21 December, the show’s social media accounts posted an official statement, saying that netizens have reported having received messages from unidentified people claiming to recruit viewers to participate in the programme.
“We hereby declare: This programme will not provide any event or activity numbers, nor will it create any waiting-list or standby group chats. Please do not trust such messages or provide personal information casually, to avoid being scammed.”
“In order to prevent similar scams from happening again, all future video-related invites and contacts will only be sent via this official account. Be sure to recognise official account offers and be alert to avoid scams.”
To demonstrate the nature of these scams, the official Instagram account also posted several screenshots of conversations, indicating that these were “scam cases provided by different netizens.”
They also welcome everyone to help share the announcement to remind family members, friends, and those interested in participating in recordings, so that they can jointly prevent fraudulent activities.
