Stephen Fung has no qualms adopting children if that’s what wife Shu Qi wants.
The filmmaker, who attended an event recently, was asked about the interview that his actress-turned-director wife had on Carol Cheng’s talk show, and said that he only learned about it from colleagues as he was filming in mainland China when the show aired.
“Although the world is quite chaotic now and many people think that we shouldn’t have children, if everyone thinks like that, humanity will become extinct. I think we should do our part,” he said, when asked about Shu Qi’s statement about wanting kids.
Asked if he’d be willing to adopt given that Shu Qi is approaching 50, he responded, “Why wouldn’t I be willing?”
But when asked whether they have discussed the topic, Stephen laughed and responded, “She doesn’t need to tell me. She makes all the decisions. Let’s just do what she decides.”
He added that both of them have the same attitude about children and that there would be no issue on that subject.
