The Miss Universe 2025 contest officially ended on November 21 with Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, claiming the crown. However, the international pageant has been mired in controversy, including allegations that the competition was rigged.
On Tuesday, November 25, the newly crowned Miss Universe shared screenshots on her Instagram story showing hate messages sent to her, including profanity and death threats.
“Thank God my values and self-esteem are strong, and this does not bring me down,” she stated in Spanish.
Despite affirming that she isn’t affected by the negative comments, Bosch noted that these types of messages can potentially hurt others and affect their mental health. She emphasized that she will fight not only against the hate directed at her but also for all women who face similar harassment.
“I will continue defending women, I will continue speaking for them, I will continue fighting for a world where no one is attacked for being who they are, for daring to shine, or for stepping outside the mold that society has imposed,” she wrote.

Bosch’s Miss Universe journey has been marred by controversies from the start. Initially, the Mexican model was criticized by Miss Universe Thailand’s director Nawat Itsaragrisil. Following her victory, French-Lebanese musician Omar Harfouch claimed he had resigned as a pageant judge, alleging that the competition was rigged and even suggesting that Bosch had a personal relationship with Miss Universe Organization head Raul Rocha.
Rocha denied these claims and announced that legal action would be taken against the “opportunist musician,” referring to Harfouch.
