Xiao Shenyang (real name Shen He) recently revealed that the reason that he hasn’t been seen in a lot of TV dramas and movies in recent years is because he has decided to accept fewer projects.
The actor, who attended the premiere of his new movie, “Illuminant Object” in Beijing recently, said that he prefers being selective of his projects and will only accept the kind of projects he has never done before.
“But comedy is still my specialty, so I was quite surprised that the director chose me to star in this movie. The script was indeed interesting. At the time, I had never acted in a film of this type, but out of curiosity and to see if I could do it, I gave it a try,” he said.
The movie tells the story of a man who decides to return to the scene of where his friend once disappeared from to find the truth, only for him and his crew to encounter a series of bizarre events.
Said Xiao, “I don’t know whether everyone will approve of it, but I will try my best. There is still room for improvement.”
