Taiwanese singer Prince Chiu (aka Wang Zi) has recently spoken up, after he was accused of meddling in the marriage between Zack Fanchiang and former cheerleader Chiang Wei-lin (aka Meigo/Guoguo).
The whole issue sparked after Zack publicly accused his wife of having an extramarital affair with the singer, saying that the two pretended to be friends while secretly betraying him.
“You destroyed my family. You still have close contact with my wife and did such a thing. How can you still dress up so well, walk the red carpet, and even go on stage to accept an award with a clear conscience?” Zack stated.
Prince had since apologised in a statement released on social media, writing, “I have caused trouble for the parties involved and disappointed many people. I express my sincerest apologies to the parties involved and everyone affected. I am not someone who destroys family relationships, nor was this a long-hidden relationship, and there was no improper intention or premeditation.”
The singer said that after he found out about Guoguo’s marital woes, he gradually became overly concerned, going beyond the boundaries that should exist between friends.
“Although it stemmed from heartache and concern, it was not the way to express it. A mistake is a mistake, and there are no excuses. In the future, I will be more cautious, reflect on myself, and improve. I am very sorry to have caused my friends who support me worry and disappointment. Once again, I offer my sincerest apologies to Fan Jiang, Guoguo, and all the relatives and friends of those involved. I’m sorry!”
