After continuously making billions at the box office, Wu Jing suddenly found himself being the subject of mockery over the failure of his new produced-film, “Goodbye, Bad Guy”.

It was reported that the film, which he produced and guest-starred in, was only able to get RMB 267,000 at the box office, which led to the announcement that the studio has withdrawn the film from schedule.

Releasing the news via an official statement, the team posted, “After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw the film from release. We are deeply grateful to every audience member who visited Happiness Lane during this time. Your every laugh and every tear have become our most treasured memories.”

“Please allow the “Bad Guy” to be “bad” one last time — and say: ‘Till we meet again.’ This brief farewell is only for the sake of a future reunion. We hope that the heartfelt efforts of our cast and crew will be seen by even more people, and that the warmth of Happiness Lane can shine into more corners of the world. We look forward to meeting again very soon.”

There have been many speculations about why the film tanked, but some netizens even pointed out that the reason for the sluggish box office was due to the clichéd story and the far-fetched drama among others.

Others believed that it was due to a lack of promotion.
