Forget what you thought you knew about music. The Alice Experiment (TAE) is here to annihilate the rulebook!
A first-of-its-kind for Asia and one of the most ambitious AI music projects in the world created in Malaysia, this all-female virtual rock band merges K-pop idol culture, rock/metal energy and cutting-edge AI technology into a high-octane movement.
Produced by LOL Asia and Pixelcrest, and conceptualised by music producer Raz Gabriel Sho and Rizal Kamal, industry maverick and CEO of LOL Asia, TAE features four virtual members – Alice (vocals & piano), Tae (bass & rap vocals), Kai (guitar, violin, production), and Rumi (drums & percussion). Each member has a rich backstory, unique personality and distinctive musical role, brought to life through immersive visuals, storytelling and original music.

For its explosive debut at Pitt Club, Kuala Lumpur on 21 August, TAE was joined by Dennis Lau, Malaysia’s premier violinist, performing live on two of the band’s tracks in a groundbreaking collaboration that fused human virtuosity with AI-driven artistry. The band’s music, a genre-bending mix of heavy guitar riffs, rap-metal verses, and electronic layers, is rooted in real human emotion by creator Raz Gabriel Sho who writes the lyrics based on personal, often painful, experiences, which are then refined and enhanced through AI.
“My inspiration for this whole project comes from years of dreaming about it – ever since my time in LA, where I worked with all kinds of musicians. I always wanted to create a hybrid-genre girl band that breaks moulds and tells stories across music, visuals, and emotion. Now, I finally can. This isn’t just producing music – it’s building a world,” said Raz Gabriel Sho, TAE’s creator and creative director.
“When Raz told me about this concept, I was immediately in. The Alice Experiment lives at the intersection of music, AI, and storytelling. It’s bold, it’s risky, and it’s born right here in Kuala Lumpur. I’m focused on the commercialisation of creative works and taking this IP global, proving that Malaysia can create world-class entertainment exports,” shared Rizal Kamal, CEO of LOL Asia.
“Our goal is to scale this into a global movement—something that can compete at the top tier of music and entertainment.” he added. Built as a comprehensive multimedia franchise with a vast “cinematic universe” and powered by an epic lore book and dictionary in the immediate future, the project plans to expand into short films, animated content, gaming tie-ins, and merchandise.

TAE’s debut album, “Resurgence”, is a cinematic, genre-bending journey about the pain of loss and defeat, and the fight to rise back to triumph. It blends rap-metal breakdowns, soaring rock choruses, electronic layers, classical violin interludes, and multicultural rhythms. Early singles like “Shackles” and “Rock With Me” have already built underground buzz, with listeners praising the band’s emotional depth and boundary-breaking sound.
Surprising audiences at the launch, in a historic first for the Southeast Asian music scene, The Alice Experiment has been officially recognised by the Asean Record Book as the first fully AI-generated, all-female band to produce original music, vocals, and personas.
Another milestone was achieved when Malaysian violinist Dennis Lau joined The Alice Experiment on stage to perform their single, “Veins.” This collaboration also earned a place in the Asean Record Book, making Lau the first instrumentalist (electric violinist) to perform live with a fully AI-generated female band on a music single.
