Ken Zhu revealed that Barbie Hsu was the reason that he decided to join F4 in their reunion at Mayday’s concert recently.
The singer, who held a concert in China on 19 July, spoke to the audience about the thought behind the reunion, saying that learning about his “Meteor Garden” co-star’s death in February truly shocked him.
“I began to think, if we don’t get together again, will there be less and less opportunities in the future?” he said.
Ken continued, “I think Barbie is a girl who has run through the lives of all four of us. Even though I haven’t been in close contact with her in recent years, her kindness and strength have always stayed with me. I believe it’s not just the four of us. I think everyone who watched Meteor Garden holds a special kind of love for her.”
Ken also revealed that the members were actually given the suggestion to perform Harlem Yu’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You”, which is the theme song for “Meteor Garden”, for the Mayday reunion.
“Vic said, ‘This song will never be happy again.’ The group turned to look at him, and he added, ‘Because Barbie is gone.’”
