Six years after her marriage with Gao Yunxiang ended, Dong Xuan (aka Michelle Dong) was revealed to have married anew.
The actress shared the news on 15 July at the media screening of a variety show, saying that she has tied the knot again after meeting husband and actor Zhang Weiyi, who is nine years her junior.
“My best friend and I had an agreement to only date and not get married, but after meeting [Zhang Weiyi], I felt like he is someone who can face life with me. It changes my attitude towards relationship,” she said.
The wedding, which was a private event, was held at Zhang’s hometown in Shanxi on 21 June, it was reported.
Dong was previously married to actor Gao Yunxiang, who was involved in a sexual assault scandal in 2018. Although the actor was eventually acquitted, the two ended their eight-year marriage in the middle of the case.
Dong then met Zhang, who was originally a stage actor, through the online drama, “The Case Solver” and partnered again in last year’s “Back to 1995”.
