Didi & Friends has officially entered the Malaysia Book of Records!
The beloved children’s brand is honoured for the “Largest Children Participation in a Storytelling Event”, with an impressive 2,172 children taking part in a record-setting storytelling session.
The record-breaking event was held in collaboration with Al-Kauthar Eduqids as part of the Al-Kauthar Eduqids Sports Carnival with Friends 2025, a celebration of learning, fun and community.

The storytelling session featured the classic tale of “Arnab & Kura-Kura” (“The Tortoise & the Hare”), first narrated by a teacher and then brought to life in a vibrant Didi & Friends version by the ever-energetic Abang Pa’an.
The official record was presented to Didi & Friends, an intellectual property jointly owned by Astro and Warnakala Studios. While the record was set at 2,172 children, the storytelling activities continued throughout the day, ultimately engaging over 6,000 children.
The carnival drew a total crowd of more than 20,000 visitors to Hall C, MAEPS Serdang, including parents and families.
This historic event also marked the launch of the DDF Story Time campaign, aimed at encouraging children to read and explore the joy of storytelling. As part of the campaign, Didi & Friends made a special appearance at the Sambutan Minggu Perpaduan 2025 Peringkat Kebangsaan, held over the same weekend at Perkarangan Stadium Penang, where fans had the chance to meet their favourite characters.
Edison Cheam, Senior AVP of GenNext Studios at Astro, shared, “At Astro, we are deeply committed to nurturing a love for learning and reading among children. Through our platforms and partnerships with content IPs like Didi & Friends, we aim to spread positive values and inspire lifelong habits that benefit our future generations.”
“Didi & Friends Story Time” airs every Friday, 11.00am. Catch it on Astro Ceria or stream on Astro On Demand, Astro GO and Sooka.
