Rainie Yang’s camp has dismissed the accusations made by Taiwanese actress Makiyo against the singer in a recent podcast interview.
The issue sparked after Makiyo shared a story on a podcast that she used to be friends with a female star prior to the latter’s fame, and even paid for her food and drinks. However, after the said star became famous, she ignored Makiyo’s late mother at an event to greet a veteran Taiwanese star.
Makiyo said her mother mocked the star on the spot, saying, “Oh! Don’t you recognise me? Our Makiyo used to pay for all your meals and entertainment, but now you don’t remember?” She added that the star turned pale and that when they met again a few days later, the actress took the initiative to greet Makiyo’s mother.
While she declined to say the name, Makiyo finally confirmed that it was Rainie Yang.

In response to the story, Rainie denied the story via her management and said, “Ms. Makiyo’s groundless accusations and attacks are all fabricated and false. This is a malicious rumour-mongering, so I have no way to respond. I hope my old friend stays in a good mood and I wish you all the best.”
The singer also posted on social media, “Regarding the groundless accusations and attacks I have received, they are all fabricated and false. This is malicious rumour-mongering. I hope that rumours will stop at the wise. Thank you.”
In response to Rainie’s denial, Makiyo responded, “This story is a mother’s personal experience. I hope everything is well with Rainie Yang. I miss her very much.”
