Celebrity friends of Rainie Yang has moved quickly to defend the singer, following the claims made by actress Makiyo about her.
Wilbur Pan recently shared a photo of the singer on Instagram Story following reports about Rainie supposedly changing her attitude towards Makiyo after she found fame, and wrote, “In over 20 years, I’ve never felt like you’ve ever changed (by fame). We get you.”
In addition, Michelle Chen also shared an image of her with Rainie, accompanied by the words, “[Rainie] has been someone who took great care of me even when I was just a complete newcomer. The her I’ve seen has never changed.”
Meanwhile, Charlene Choi recently posted a photo of her watching Rainie’s performance on Instagram Story and wrote, “My good friend Rainie Yang, her appearance and personality have not changed in the past 20 years. Good show at the Hong Kong concert!”
The issue sparked after Makiyo shared a story on a podcast that she used to be friends with a female star prior to the latter’s fame, but that the unnamed star ignored Makiyo’s late mother at an event to greet a veteran Taiwanese star when she became famous.
She later confirmed that the star in her story is Rainie Yang.
