Barbie Hsu’s mother Huang Chun-mei has recently shared a new photo of her family, the first one since the actress’ sudden passing back in February.
On 11 May, as the Hsu family celebrated Mother’s Day, Huang posted a photo of her with her children, grandchildren, as well as son-in-law DJ Koo Jun-yup, whom she noted to have lost a lot of weight since losing Barbie.
“This year’s Mother’s Day is especially heartbreaking for me. My son-in-law, Koo Jun-yup, has been growing thinner day by day because he misses Hsi-yuan so much. And my other son-in-law, Mike, always makes such thoughtful arrangements,” she posted.
Huang also said that she has two very filial daughters, including Dee, whom she said asked her colleagues to make an AI video of Barbie wishing her a Happy Mother’s Day.
“[This is] just because I once told her: ‘I really want to hear Shan Shan wish me Happy Mother’s Day one more time!’” she said.
She said that a lot of celebrities and members of the public miss Barbie too and have sent her so many blessings.
“I am truly grateful to everyone. I must stay strong — maybe not right away, but I believe that, gradually, I will get better,” she added.
