Xiumin’s agency has now accused KBS of denying the singer his place to promote his music on KBS2’s “Music Bank” due to its good relationship with SM Entertainment.
In a recent statement released by ONE HUNDRED Label, the company stated that their team has made continuous effort to arrange meetings with various broadcasting stations to promote the former EXO member’s solo album, “Interview X”, but that KBS has remained unresponsive.
The company also alleged that they received unofficial information from the broadcaster that it would be difficult for the singer to appear on KBS programmes that feature SM Entertainment’s artistes.
“We believe this situation reflects a case where a public broadcasting station is blocking an artiste’s meeting with fans, not due to musical or any other factors, but based on its dealings with a specific entertainment company. If this kind of unfair treatment continues, our artistes will be placed in a situation where they cannot promote on music shows whenever SM Entertainment artistes have ongoing album promotions,” the company stated.
ONE HUNDRED also stated that the company will continue to work hard to ensure that artistes are treated fairly and strive to prevent many artistes from being harmed by such unfair behaviour.
In response to the allegation, a KBS rep stated that the claim made was untrue and that the “Music Bank” team has been in continuous communication with Xiumin’s agency.
