Rumours are rife that Dilraba Dilmurat has been cast to star in the highly-anticipated Stephen Chow film, “Shaolin Women’s Soccer”.
Sources recently said that the Uyghur actress has travelled to Shenzhen for the filming of the movie, and will play the lead alongside other actors that include Zhang Yixing and Zhang Xiaofei.
However, another theory has emerged saying that Dilraba might only be making a guest appearance.
At present, neither Stephen Chow, the film company nor Dilraba herself have responded to the rumour, and the finalised list of cast remains to be seen.
It was back on his 61st birthday in 2023 that Stephen announced that he is developing an all-female version of his hit 2001 movie, “Shaolin Soccer”.
The comedy auteur then began to hold major casting calls all over the world, attracting about 30,000 people to sign up, from actors, singers, athletes to even ordinary people.
