Morning Musume’s Rio Kitagawa recently confirmed that she has finally returned to work after her previous hiatus that was due to a health issue.
As reported on TV Asahi News, the 20-year-old singer shared the good news on her official blog, writing, “As of today, I’m back at work. Last night, I went for a short walk to see how my stamina was. I realised that walking is hard…lol. Also, I was surprised that it’s still so hot out there.”
As for finally coming back to work, she wrote, “It was nice to see the other members again after a long time. Everyone was filling in for me in my absence despite their busy schedules, but when we met, the first thing they said was, ‘Welcome back!’ I was so touched by their kindness. I’ll do my best from tomorrow.”
Rio was absent from an event on 15 August due to poor health. On 16 August, her agency revealed that she has been diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia and cancelled her appearances at the Fukuoka concert and other events.
