Red Velvet’s Joy is taking a break from work to focus on her health.
As reported on Chosun, the news was revealed by SM Entertainment on 26 April, saying that the singer was recently admitted to a hospital due to her poor health and was advised by her doctor to undergo treatment and get some rest.
“Joy will not participate in the schedule for the time being, and plans to take a break and try to recover from her condition. We apologise for causing concern to the fans. This decision was made after thorough discussion for the sake of Joy’s health,” the company stated.
SM also stated that they will inform everybody as soon as Joy resumes activity, though made no mention as to what ails the singer.
The news also means that Joy will not be recording the SBS show, “Animal Farm”.
