Coco Martin couldn’t help but shed a tear at the wake held for the late Susan Roces, who passed away last week on 20 May due to cardiac arrest. She was 81
The actor, who first worked with Susan in “Walang Hanggan” and starred alongside the Queen of Philippine movies in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”, acknowledged Susan as the source of inspiration for him in continuing the TV series.
“She is not just a fellow actor to me. We share a deep relationship, love and respect towards each other. We accept everything she says because her words of wisdom really stay in our minds and hearts,” he said.
“We are lucky to have worked with her because she has gone through it all,” he added.
Coco also addressed the late actress in his speech, saying, “Wherever you are now, I just want you to know that everyone here loves you so much and we will not forget you. I love you.”
A number of celebrities attended the wake that was held at the Heritage Memorial Park, Taguig City, including Sharon Cuneta and John Arcilla.
Daughter Senator Grace Poe also revealed that the wake is open to public beginning 22 May.
