Miss Universe-PH 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez recently expressed her support for her successor, Celeste Cortesi, who recently won the crown for the year 2022.
In a photo from the crowning ceremony held on 30 April that she shared on social media on 3 May, Beatrice wrote, “To our dearest @celeste_cortesi, we are tremendously proud of you already!”
“The heavens indeed blessed you to be our Miss Universe Philippines 2022 and without a doubt you will do great in representing our country at the 71st Miss Universe. Always know that when the crown gets too heavy to bear, WE GOT YOU!”
Celeste also posted her thanks in the comments, writing, “This is so sweet. Thank you Bea, you did such an amazing job during your reign and I know I can learn a lot from you.”
“I hope we will get the chance to talk in person soon,” she added.
The Filipino-Italian beauty bested other contenders to win the crown during the competition that was held at the Mall of Asia Arena on 30 April.
On the other hand, crowd favourite, Michelle Dee won the title of Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2022.
The upcoming 71st Miss Universe pageant will be held in San Jose, and will see the return of Angola, Barbados, Belize, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Saint Lucia, Seychelles and Switzerland, which did not compete in the 2021 pageant held in Israel.
