With two Best Supporting Actress nominations at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Fish Liew recently admitted that she is grateful to have such an achievement in her career.
As reported on Mingpao, the Malaysian-born actress, who has been nominated for her performances in the biopic, “Anita” and the Gordon Lam thriller “Limbo”, stated that the biggest achievement she made this year was to have more people know her after ten years in Hong Kong.
“I have been in this industry a long time, but I’m not very famous. After it was revealed that a girl from Malaysia is participating in [Anita], the people in my hometown are proud of me,” she said.
As to whether she would win or not, Fish stated that one cannot be too greedy.
“You just have to go with the flow and not push for awards,” she said.
As to whether her family will come to Hong Kong to cheer her on at the awards, Fish said that the pandemic might hinder her family from doing so.
On the other hand, she also revealed that she would be reunited with her “Anita” co-star Louise Wong in another film soon – a modern film that will mark another collaboration between the two actresses and the “Anita” team.
Fish will be competing against Bai Lang (“Leap”), Loletta Lee (“Drifting”) and Nina Paw (“Caught in Time”) in the said category at the upcoming awards.
