Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are now officially married.
The couple tied the knot on 14 April, witnessed by family members and friends in a traditional Punjabi wedding ceremony held at Ranbir’s Pali Hill Vastu residence in Bandra.
Among those seen at the wedding include the Kapoor clan, including Ranbir’s mother Neetu, sister Riddhima, as well as cousins Kareena and Karisma; the Bhatt family including Pooja and Rahul Bhatt, as well as friends including Karan Johar and Soni Razdan.
Prior to their wedding, the couple conducted their pre-wedding ceremonies on 13 April, including the mehendi and haldi ceremonies.
Alia and Ranbir had since shared photos from their wedding on Alia’s Instagram, writing, “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot – the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship – we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites.”
“Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special. Love, Ranbir and Alia.”
On the other hand, Ranbir’s uncle Randhir Kapoor expressed his joy over the actor’s marriage, saying that the wedding made him miss his brother and Ranbir’s late father Rishi Kapoor even more.
“It is a big day for the family, and Chintu should have been here. We miss him every day, but today we are missing him more. But life goes on. It is nice to see Ranbir and Alia starting this new chapter. Hope Rishi would have been here to witness this moment. I am missing him so much today,” he said.
The couple have been together for five years, having met while working on the movie, “Brahmastra”.
