Son Ye-Jin is set to star in a new drama on JTBC, three years after her last drama with the network.
As reported on Chosun, the news was announced by the actress’ agency, MSTeam Entertainment, saying, “Son Ye-Jin has decided to work on the drama “Thirty Nine” as her next project, which is scheduled to be aired on JTBC. This will be her first return to JTBC in three years following the drama ‘Something in the Rain.’”
With only 12 episodes, “Thirty Nine” is a miniseries about friendship, love, and life of three friends in their forties. In it, Son will play the role of Cha Mi-Jo, an affluent director of Gangnam Dermatology Clinic and the central figure of the story.
Written by Yoo Young-Ah of “Encounter” and “Miracle in Cell No. 7” and helmed by “Run On” director Kim Sang-Ho, the miniseries will begin filming in August after the rest of the cast are confirmed.
Last year, Son’s tvN drama, “Crash Landing On You” made it big internationally after it was released on Netflix worldwide.
