Fans of the hit 90s sitcom “Friends” will be happy to know that there is indeed a reunion show and that it has recently finished filming.
The news was announced on the sitcom’s official Instagram page on 10 April, sharing a photo of a massive screen bearing the words “Friends: The Reunion”, and writing, “That’s a wrap! Could we BE anymore excited!? Friends: The Reunion is coming to [HBO Max].”
It is happening.. finally. |
This isn’t the first photo that had surfaced about the long-planned reunion – which had been delayed earlier due to the pandemic.
Last week, cast member Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing made a mistake of leaking information about the project by sharing a photo from his makeup van and wrote, “Seconds before eating a make-up brush. Not to mention reuniting with my Friends.”
Deadline previously reported that the reunion special was being taped, with the entire main cast including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc on board. The project was also revealed to have been shot at the sitcom’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank.
Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman and made its debut in September 1994, “Friends” quickly became one of the hottest American television sitcom in the ’90s to early 2000s. The show revolves around six friends – Ross, Rachel, Monica, Joey, Phoebe, and Chandler as they experience life in their early 20s to 30s in the city of New York.
The show went on for ten seasons and went out with a bang.
All six friends previously surprised fans when they all appeared in a picture taken by Jennifer Aniston as her first Instagram photo |
