After nearly three years of hiatus from television, Diether Ocampo is set to
make his small screen comeback through the new Kapamilya Channel series, “Huwag
Kang Mangamba”.
As reported on Push, the actor, whose last drama was the
2018 LizQuen series, “Bagani”, revealed that he always prefers shows where he
can offer something new, which is why he decided to say yes to the project.
Asked
if he was pickier now about his acting work, Ocampo, who is most known to his
international fans through his performance in the 2003 drama, “Sana’y Wala Nang
Wakas”, denied such a notion.
“To be honest, our industry is small,” he
said. “There is no bad bread in our industry. Sometimes it just doesn’t match,
sometimes because of the schedule or sometimes the character given to us doesn’t
really fit. In my case, I’ve been very, very thankful and blessed to be offered
this kind of project because of course a lot of people are also waiting for
projects.”
“But to be part of this very timely project, I guess everything
just fell into place and I’m very thankful for that,” he added.
As to what
he has been doing for the past year, Ocampo shared that he has been busy doing
lots of arts and paintings.
“Recently I joined an art exhibit in Pinto
gallery. That’s the one in Antipolo. Also, I was quite busy finishing my flight
school. I was supposed to be getting my full license as a pilot but because of
these challenging times everyone has to adjust and we’ve been doing everything
online,” he said.
The upcoming series stars Andrea Brillantes, Seth
Fedelin, Francine Diaz, and Kyle Echarri, with supporting cast include Eula
Valdes, Sylvia Sanchez, and RK Bagatsing among many.
It is set to premiere
on 22 March replacing the Jodi Sta. Maria series, “Ang sa Iyo ay Akin”.
