After much anticipation, Disney+ announced that they are officially launched in Singapore on 23 February.

Amit Malhotra, The Walt Disney Company’s Regional Lead in Emerging Markets recently expressed, “We are excited to officially introduce several distinguished titles that will soon be available in Singapore on Disney+ as we continue to deliver high-quality content and captivating stories, even on the small screens.”

“From iconic Disney classics, to brand-new features from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars galaxy, and to documentaries and dramas; we are advancing the subscription video-on-demand experience with an unparalleled catalogue of entertainment,” he added.

Offering an exceptional selection of over 650 films and 15,000 episodes of content, among the many shows that will be available on Disney+ include original series such as Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” and “Loki,” premiering exclusively on Disney+ in 2021. Other Marvel offerings include “What If…?,” the first animated series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; “Ms. Marvel”, a new series that introduces Kamala Khan – 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City; and “Hawkeye”, which stars Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, as he teams up with Kate Bishop, another well-known archer from the Marvel comics.

“Raya and the Last Dragon” will also be streaming via Premier Access

Fans who are anticipating the release of Disney Animation’s first Southeast Asian-focused “Raya and the Last Dragon” and are worried they will not be able to see it in theatres will also get to watch the movie through Disney+ with Premier Access, aside from various other animations by Disney and Pixar, including “Dug Days,” a new collection of shorts on the misadventures of Dug, the lovable dog from Disney and Pixar’s “Up”, and Pixar’s first-ever long-form animated series “Win or Lose,” which debuts exclusively on Disney+ in 2023.

As for Star Wars fans, Disney+ also offers new shows like “Rangers of the New Republic,” “Ahsoka,” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, as well as the animated series, “The Bad Batch” featuring the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”).

These will all be added to other Disney+ Originals, including the epic first-ever live-action Star Wars series, “The Mandalorian”, “Godmothered”, “Flora & Ulysses”, “Inside Pixar,” and high quality content from National Geographic such as “The Right Stuff” and “Gordon Ramsay: Unchartered”.

Disney+ will launch in Singapore on 23 February, 2021 for a fee of SGD 11.98 a month or SGD 119.98 a year. The service will be available on a wide range of mobile and connected devices, including gaming consoles, streaming media players, and smart TVs. In addition, existing and new StarHub Mobile, TV and Broadband customers will be able to enjoy up to two years of access to Disney+.
