The 1MDB saga continues, this time as part of the second season of Netflix’s docuseries about “corporate corruption, securities fraud and creative accounting”.

More specifically, the focus is on the former sixth Malaysian prime minister embroiled in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) money-laundering scandal, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

One of the six episodes in “Dirty Money Season 2”, called “The Man at The Top”, will feature an exclusive interview with Najib himself and also touch on his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s penchant for luxury goods.
Directed by Zach Heinzerling, here’s the official synopsis of the episode: “An inside look at how billions swindled from a Malaysian Sovereign Wealth fund — known as 1MDB — were used to line the pockets of an international cast of power players, including Hollywood celebrities, Goldman Sachs executives, and the highest members of the Malaysian government. Includes a rare sit-down with former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.”
Arrested in July 2018, Najib currently is on trial over seven charges related to the former subsidiary of 1MDB, SRC International Sdn Bhd.

The first season of “Dirty Money” premiered to positive reviews in 2018. Topics included in the six one hour-long episodes were Donald Trump’s legal affairs, HSBC money laundering and the Volkswagen emissions scandal.
“Dirty Money Season 2” will start streaming on Netflix this 11 March.
